Ginger Lemon Honey Cayenne Tea

This tea is amazing…  Supposedly it is good for ‘curing’ colds and ‘boosting’ the immune system. Healthy or not it’s a great drink when it’s cold outside. There are a lot of different versions of ‘Ginger Cayenne Tea’. Here is my recipe. (serves two)

Ingredients:

  • 4 cups Water
  • 1 – 2 tablespoons chopped Ginger
  • 1 – 2 tsp Cayenne Powder depending on how spicy you like it
  • 1 Lemon

Directions:

Put the 4 cups of water into a pot and turn stove to medium heat to boil water.

Peel and chop the ginger

Wash and cut the lemon, use a fork or knife to get out the seeds.

Squeeze the lemon halves into the pot

Place squeezed lemons in the pot along with the chopped ginger

Add a table spoon of honey to the pot.

Add the cayenne pepper

It should look something like this when you have everything in the pot, stir it up a bit:

Once the water starts to boil you can take the pot off the heat and pour it into your mug(s). I would pour it over a sink in case of spillage…  Make sure to let it cool a bit before you drink it.
