Refrigerator Pickles: Learn To Pickle Cucumbers the Simple Way

After trying a couple different pickling recipes, this recipes seems to be the simplest and works well. This pickles from this recipe turned out crispy and should last up to a month.

Ingredients

In general you need:

  • Cucumbers (Also try carrots, peppers, jalapenos)
  • Sea salt
  • Mason jars
  • Dill
  • Black peppercorns
  • Garlic
  • White vinegar
  • Water

Instructions

Slice the cucumbers and carrots and garlic. Fill up the jar with veggies and adding in dill, garlic and black peppercorns as appropriate. Add about 3 table spoons of vinegar, 1/2 to 1 tsp / a pinch or two of sea salt.

Fill the jar up to the top with water and seal the the lid on tightly. Shake up the jar to mix the ingredients and leave set for 12 hours. After about 12 hours shake the jars again and place them upside down for another 12 hours.

After the 24 hours try one of your pickles – the should be tasty and crispy.

Now they can be stored in the fridge for up to a month.
